Evening LINC Instructor Part Time

The Immigrant Service Centre – Language Services offers a wide range of English language learning classes to newcomers on the North Shore including the LINC program and supported English language programs for seniors and for women experiencing vulnerabilities. Specialized classes are available to temporary permit holders and newcomers wanting to increase their workplace English language skills. Our language services also include personalized tutoring options and English language testing programs.

The LINC Instructor will be supported by the Language Leads and work under the direction of the Manager of English Language Services. The LINC Instructor will teach and support LINC students to develop their English language skills in accordance with the requirements of the federally funded LINC program.

Facilitator / Employment Resource Advisor - WorkBC Full Time

Under the general supervision of the Employment Services Manager, the Facilitator/Employment Resource Advisor is responsible for working closely with job seekers, supporting them with their goals through virtual workshops, one-to-one workshops, phone support, and by providing one to one support in the Resource Room. The Facilitator/Employment Resource Advisor will ensure that job seekers access a variety of program workshops to enhance employability (i.e. job search skills, career exploration, life skills). This role is responsible for completing client progress notes and entering data using ICM in a timely manner.  The Facilitator/Resource Advisor will develop and modify workshop materials to ensure program participants are receiving the most up-to-date and client-focused job search tools.

Settlement Worker – Digital Skills Focus Part Time

This Settlement Worker position provides direct client services and supports newcomers to adapt to life in Canada. Through an integrated services approach, the Settlement Worker conducts one-on-one detailed needs assessment and referrals, one-on-one information and orientation, group information and orientation, service bridging, community connections, client outreach, resource development, and ensures service accessibility for all eligible clients. In addition to providing direct settlement support services, this position supports the enhancement of digital skills through the development and delivery of digital literacy training programs and one-to-one support services for clients with low or no digital literacy skills to reduce barriers to participation in services.
